Elderly Muslims were invited to celebrate Eid with others between 2pm and 5pm at the MKA hall. The aim of the event was to bring isolated elderly muslims with no family all under one roof to celebrate this wonderful occasion in the company of others and not alone. Arif Cassam Vice-Chairman said “The idea came when I was at work as a taxi driver and I picked up and elderly person. The conversation turned to Eid and she was unhappy that on this auspicious day she would spend it alone”.
Overall, the event was a great success and we hope to organise future events in the coming year.
