Assalamu Alaikum,

Welcome to the Muslim Khatri Association (MKA) Community Centre's Official website. The centre is based in the heart of Leicester in Evington.

We are extremely proud to serve the Khatri and other communities, living in and around Highfields area of Leicester. The MKA Community Centre was established in 1982 as the UK Khatri Welfare Centre. Early work consisted mainly of translation, interpretation, funerals, social gatherings and marriage councelling. However, due to the changing needs of the community, the Centre has evolved to its present form.

We've helped raise awareness on issues close to us all: unemployment, poor housing in inner city areas, racial abuse, cultural alienation, domestic violence and drug abuse. Some of the services provided at the centre in previous years includes Drug preventative activities, Health promotion, Cancer Awareness, CHD, Elderly day care, Positive Activities for Young people and Lifelong learning Activities.

For more information, comments or suggestions, please feel free to contact us and we will be pleased to assist you. Meanwhile, enjoy your visit to our website and we look forward in seeing you again soon.
